"Seattle" Transpartisan or "Transpartisan" on CAN? How we use CAN site (and Facebook) vs. this one...

Hello all (especially the Core Team at TA)... I think we need some clarity around how we are using this site vs. the CAN site that we've created (Compassion Action Network) -- and, now I understand f…

I agree with Maggie. The SCOTUS ruling is repulsive to any awake American.

Looking forward to the Wed. meeting tonight at Mosaic Coffee House.

I'm confused about meeting schedules, is there a link for March?

This might be a great opportunity for transpartisanship:

"Left and right united in opposition to controversial SCOTUS decision"

"... it appears that one issue does unite Americans across the political spectrum.

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll finds that the vast majority of Americans are vehemently opposed to a recent Supreme Court ruling that opens the door for foreign and domestic corporations, labor unions, and other organizations to spend money directly from their general funds to influence campaigns.

As noted by the Post's Dan Eggen, the poll's findings show "remarkably strong agreement" across the board, with roughly 80% of Americans saying that they're against the Court's 5-4 decision. Even more remarkable may be that opposition by Republicans, Democrats, and Independents were all near the same 80% opposition range. Specifically, 85% of Democrats, 81% of Independents, and 76% of Republicans opposed it. In short, "everyone hates" the ruling...."

Hello all,

Wanted to say I was encouraged and "intrigued!" by the first Transpartisan Alliance meeting I attended on February 10th. Look forward to listening and conversing with you all more as we work to take our country back.

Great news, Joy! I just posted our Thursday evening meeting on this site... Hope that clarifies things for people. Thanks for all you are doing to get this going, Joy, Michael, Franca and others. See you Thursday!

News flash! President of Libertarian Party of Washington and her husband will be attending our meeting next Thursday. I think that is a maven in Gladwell's terms. Please let me know who else is coming so I can let John know.

Dear TA friends;
Our December 10th meeting is next and we need to firm up our plans as to location and numbers of guests. John, specifically needs to know, so he, or someone else, can take care of arranging another room, if the conference room at Dick’s Drive In is going to be too small. I believe John mentioned a coffee shop nearby on the same block. Meanwhile, there a couple of questions to ask:
1. Does anyone have any confirmed guests they are bringing? If so, how many?
2. Does anyone have reason to believe that we will need to change to another room?
3. I have not received any phone calls of confirmation from anyone yet, so as far as I can tell, at this point if it’s just us we should all fit into the Dick’s conference room.

I just sent out repeat invitations to contacts I have through the Conservatives and Libertarians. Let’s hope they prove fruitful.
Can’t wait to see you all next week.
Oh, BTW, the reason the EVENT I tried to post for this didn't post, is that it is "private". The software for this site won't post a private event. We agreed to this at the last meeting. Found this out from Joseph McCormick.

Joseph, Susan and all folks who are knowledgeable about how to use these social networking sites: please enlighten me! I posted the Dec. 10th event both on this site and on the CAN site under EVENTS and neither one has shown up for others to see. So I don't understand why. I must be doing something wrong in my posting process. Please call me if you can instruct me on how to do this right!! Clearly the online learning is not working! For whatever reason, I have a slow learning curve when it comes to this technology. On the other hand, when it comes to encountering conservatives, I am having a ball!! Ask me about that---it's fabulous.

I just spoke with a fellow from Everett, WA who's interested in attending the 12/10 meeting...I would describe him as a "crunchy-com"...green conservative. He may want to bring a person or two. I told him to visit the "events" tab here to find the location/time, etc., but the event hasn't been posted. Susan, Michael, Joy...are one of you open to posting the meeting here under the "events" tab? Thanks! Joseph :)
