Wendell - good thoughts on what a centrist/transpartisan third party should stand for.

The third party will be one that takes the best ideas from both/all existing parties and joins them together in a coherent whole that is intelligent, offers real solutions and satisfies the unmet needs of all parties. Those who realize the uselessness of the current political polarization will be drawn to it. Its policies will solve problems and not merely treat symptoms and cause negative unintended results. It will bridge the gap between left and right in regard to public policy on the proper role and size of government and appropriate taxation to produce adequate revenue for all levels of government. Its tax policy when adopted will of itself solve many problems such as the disparity of wealth, urban blight and sprawl, environmental destruction, affordable housing, creation of good jobs, increase wages etc. thus reducing the need for government and thus of itself reducing the size and cost of government. This party will not shrink from putting itself and the need for massive government out of business. This party will have an actual position regarding money and will not shrink from declaring the need for public control over the creation of money and the control of credit. It will be free of control by narrow vested interests because it will be for the good of all. It will be known as the party of the radical center because as the word radical connotes it will deal with root causes and of necessity it will be of the center because that is the only place where root causes can actually be seen and dealt with without drawing fire from extremes all of whom will have a stake in the new paradigm. The new party will create the opportunity for all citizens to have a stake in their country and thus in its good governance.
